NABC and Architecture

NABC framework is applicable to almost every innovation including the architectural design done in studio. The idea of the projects done while studying is that we are able to sell our design to tutors or the juries so that ultimately we can do it in real life. Selling our design to clients!!!

Well, nobody is gonna spend on something that they are not convinced is much for them isn't it?

NABC in design projects:

Need - Site analysis is done to understand more about issues on the site, learn more about the people and their lives and to be able to synthesize the data collected. For what? To come up with a proper design which will solve the issues and come up with a solution to the target user in terms of their needs.

Approach - This is the most preliminary phase of designing. YES!! Concept. The concept can be the approach used to solve whatever issues we are going to address on. Including on determining the program of a design, spaces etc.

Benefits - Oh yeah!! This is where we have to come up with good enough reasons why the, tutor, jury or even the client think that design is justifiable enough and it can give benefits to them if they choose it. So this would be the design development phase which will focus on even deeper into the design solutions and details.

Competition - Okay so this is where things get real!!! Competition with other similar projects or whatsoever. We have to open our eyes wide to be able to come up with an innovation which makes our design stands out. Well, something which will catch the eyes..... 👀
